Studio owner and director Caroline Varney started dancing at the age of two. She earned her degree in dance at Pretoria University in South Africa and has toured professionally with such companies as Danza Lorca and Jose & Helena Montoya in South Africa, England, Austria and Spain. She has also danced for the Pretoria State Ballet. She previously owned The Academy of Dance in New York. She thoroughly enjoys teaching Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, and of course Flamenco. ![]() Nyree Young teaches at area studios and previously operated her own studio. A creative and experienced choreographer, Nyree teaches Irish Step dancing (solo) as well as traditional Irish Ceili dancing (group). Nyree will be starting her 5th year as a teacher at the Academy of Dance in 2011.
Tracey Garland has danced all her life, and is part of the Collective Motion Dance company. Tracey is starting her third year with the Academy of Dance in 2011, and teaches Hip Hop Boys and Girls Competition classes, Adult Tap, and Dancercise
Dolly Hamel has been dancing since the age of four. She received her BA in dance from Bradford College in 1999. Since then she has had the opportunity to teach at several local studios, and has worked with some of the industry's top dancers and choreographers. Dolly is the former director of the dance program at Kennebunk High School, and coached the award-winning KHS Dance Team. She starts her third year teaching Hip Hop with the Academy of Dance in 2011. |
