Thank you for your interest in the Academy of Dance. We would be delighted if you joined our studio as we begin our 8th exciting year. Our successful studio has grown each year, however, we are still small and intimate enough to know each student by name.
Our goal in teaching has always been to offer high-quality, small classes at reasonable prices, and to teach dance in a fun and creative way. We want every student to learn confidence and technique, and to have a great dance experience. We believe that all our students are shining stars, and this is reflected in the high number of students who re-register each year. We look forward to teaching you too!
Why choose The Academy of Dance?
Apart from our low monthly tuition fees, we give huge discounts for students taking multiple classes, and for multiple students from the same family. Individual students receive a massive 50% discount off their second and subsequent classes, and additional family members receive a 20% discount off their first class.
At The Academy of Dance, we pride ourselves in keeping the costs of dance as low as possible. Unlike other studios, we offer optional fundraisers to offset the cost of costumes. Each student keeps the profit from their own fundraising efforts. We also give a free studio T-shirt for early enrolment at the beginning of the dance year and an end of year recognition medal to each student. Compare out total cost with other local studios, (e.g. tuition, costumes, recital tickets and photos) and you will see that we are the most affordable dance studio around.
Our studio includes a double glass-viewing door, so you can always see your child. No need to wait for “observation days”. Siblings are welcome; we have coloring and toys to keep them occupied. We have plenty of off-street parking for all our students.
Our studio limits all classes to a maximum of 12 students. Students benefit greatly from the extra attention; they learn more, and have more fun. Our smaller class sizes make sure that no fundamental concepts are being missed, and ensure that students do not develop bad habits or improper technique.
We are always happy to answer any questions. We keep our students updated via our website and Facebook page, and also keep you updated with monthly newsletters, both printed and online.
We offer many opportunities for all our students to perform. Competition classes are available, and we also perform at our Holiday show, year-end recital, and at local venues and parades.
Dance attire
All items are available for purchase at The Academy of Dance. Items out of stock will be ordered for you.
Mummy & Me / Music and Movement classes: Prima Pink ballet tights and shoes, and any color leotard.
Tap: Tan tights and tan tap shoes
Lyrical: Footless tan tights and lyrical sandals
Hip Hop: Black dance sneakers
Flamenco: Flamenco shoes, leotard, skirt and castanets
Irish Step: Irish step ghillies
Ballet: Prima pink ballet tights and slippers, leotard and skirt.
All Irish Step, Hip Hop, Tap and Dancercise classes should wear comfortable, appropriate dancewear, for example shorts, T-shirt, or sweatpants. No jeans please.
Recital Costumes
Fundraisers are held to offset recital costume costs. Any unpaid balances can be paid off in monthly instalments in October, November and December. For many students, the fundraisers completely offset the cost of their costumes.
